Any salesforce and cloud databases integration for less than 1000$ :-)

I'm searching a cheap and easy alternative to connect SFDC to cloud services like Amazon RDS or SQL Azure.

From my experience the cheapest way is create basic Virtual machine on Amazon EC2 + Amazon RDS + Talend Open Studio.

But maybe do you know something similar to project SOAPbox as a alternative to Salesforce Lightning Connect.
This is nice solution, but I need extra licence and I can't write data to external database.

Do you have any experience for small business and any tools which are cheaper than  1000$.

Few days ago I found great solution to data integration (opensource !!!! )
https://www.dreamfactory.com/
You can run app localy or on the PaaS platform.
It has many connectors so I think this is great stuff.
I made first PoC and look really good.
Please share with any comments... I think it is big step in data integration and dreamfactory made good work.

I had the similar experience, I used to make a direct connection between SFDC and Amazon RDS with help of cloud-based service - Skyvia (https://skyvia.com/).

This is the great no-coding solution, with elastic scheduling features and at last, price is much cheaper than 1000$ ;-)

P.S. Only the price for enterprise-level is about 1000$, but it is definitely not for small business.
