Thanks Chandra and Abhilash. But I am looking for info on what are the basic elements we need to have in place prior seeting out to config. For instance in SAP (enterprise s/w) we need to configure plants, sales area etc as apart of config which follows a sequence. similarly do we have any such guide in salesforce?

Hi Prabhu,

Yes, you indeed have a similar kind of flow in salesforce as well like setting up objects, fields, automations etc.

Try the below force.com fundamental guide which will take you through a step by step process of building any application in salesforce.

Thanks Chandra, I have already done thru this guide where i'm now pretty comfortable in performing a config but there is an already existing apps like accounts, leads, opportunities etc....in such case to implement plain vannila version of SF where i do not need any complex customization or developments what are the recommendations in moving forward? any inputs on this please?
