Recently I came across with a article with new updates and as per this we can use lightning componets in visual force. But Visualforce still works like it used to and continues to be a foundational part of developing on theSalesforce platform. Lightning components are still in their infancy and not all the features you’re used to in Visualforce are fully supported yet. for more information visit: https://developer.salesforce.com/trailhead/lex_dev_overview/lex_dev_overview_lightning_components
