I need help with a requirement. I believe this is a trigger that needs to be built off a custom object called Location. When a location manager name is entered in the name field, that location manager becomes the owner of that record

I think this should be possibe through process builder..is the location manager a lookup field to the user object? If yes, you can directly have an update field action in the process to make the owner as the location manager.
