Nr of visible lines for TextArea

Hi 
I have a TextArea(255) custom field that by default gets displayed with 6 visible lines. Is there a way to make it smaller, for example only 3 lines?
It's kind of strange that for a Long Text Area field you can specify the number of visible lines, but for Text Area you can't.

I create a TextArea field under Account object in my DE environment and it looks like below:

Thanks for your reply. 
If I create a new TexArea field, it comes-out small just like yours.
But I'm trying to make smaller an existing TextArea field (6 visible lines) and I can't - I don't see any settings that would allow me to make it smaller. I have no idea why it comes out so big.

Can you please paste the images of field config and also on the UI, how it is display.

Also the field is on the Standard page layout or VF page?
