unable to install salesforce workbench

hi team
while i try to install the salesforce workbench, It displays the error
"An error has occured and you have been logged out:
API_DISABLED_FOR_ORG:API  is not enabled for this organisation or partner"

So can any one help in resolving this, what needs to be done in order to get acccess to workbench

That would be better if you create your testing org using below mentioned URL instead of doing testing in trial org:

Hi,

Just check whether your profile has API enabled permission checked or not. If not, then enable it and try to install workbench.

I am not sure about the trial version whether it contain 'API enabled' permission or not. To check whether your profile has API enabled permission, just follow below navigation:

Setup-->Profiles-->Your Profile Name you are logged in with-->Search for 'API enabled' permission there.

And what di you mean with install? Are you hosting the workbench for your own? Or do you using the cloud solution at workbench.developerforce.com?! --dirk

Hi Sneha,

please enable Api for your profile.

go to your profile, setup--> profile--> select the profile name you belong--> edit--> select API Enabled check box.
After api enabled selected try to use workbench.
