How to use Email Service addresses for Inbound ?

I am attempting to use the Email Service address for Replies to certain Email Alerts. But we are unable to use Email Service addresses as Org-Wide addresses, and therefore we cannot use them as the From address on an Email Alert.

I was going to set up Forwarding in another legitimate email address to be sent to the Email Service address to solve this. I'm using Gmail. But when a Forwarding address is named the system insists on sending a confirmation email to the address named as the Forwarding recipient. Since it's an Email Service address I don't know how to do this.

Does anybody have any advice on how to accomplish this with an Email Service ?

Thank you.

Here is a work around that could work(did not test it though.)

1. Create a group email in your email server with existing user as a member
2. Add the group email id to org wide addresses in salesforce
3. You will receive an email to confirm from salesforce.
4. Once confirmed, remove users from the group and add email service email address to the group.
5. Any email sent to group address should be sent to email service.

Sreeni,

Just so you know, I ended up running my Email Service on the confirmation email. By doing that, it dumped the whole body of the confirmation email into a Long Text field. From there, I just clicked on the confirmation link and it was done. So, technically I used my own email to confirm the other email. I didn't know if it would work, but it did.

Thank you for your help.
