Are Salesforce Ids unique globally?

We have two orgs within our company and they both send Case data to a legacy Application. Are the Case Ids unique across both the Orgs?

No.  Record Ids are not guaranteed to be unique across orgs.

Yes, Ids are always unique across all Salesforce Orgs. However, there is one exception: if you have a full copy sandbox, the Ids in your Production Org will match those that are in the full copy Sandbox.
