ADP Payroll data Integrate with SalesForce for HR Tracking
I work with a wonderful Nonprofit that uses ADP for Payroll and Time Management, and SalesForce for client management and reporting.
They would like to use SalesForce for HR tracking (Certification and Licenses, Training required and taken - that sort of thing).
They need the HR information (Employee info - name, hire date, department, etc.) from ADP to integrate with SalesForce to reduce double entry and maintenance.
Does anyone know of a [free or low cost is best] app or integration that can be used for this connection?
Is anyone out there doing this sort of thing?
Thanks!
Sara

However, it is not free, but it says Discounted for Non Profits, so you can give it a go.
Otherwise, if your Data is as low as 200 records, I feel that a simple scheduled Data loader import will do. You can use Contact object with Record type of Employee and create some custom picklist fields for holding your certifications, Trainings required etc and any other info. You will need to create an Account for your organisation which will hold these Contacts. If you can place the csv file in a particular folder daily, then some customized Data loader script can pick that file up daily and load into salesforce.

This seems to be a custom requirement for Integration between ADP and Salesforce. There is no such Appexchange Package available which automatically syncs data from ADP to Salesforce.
There are some questions that need to be answered:
1) Do you need real time update of data or a scheduled integration can do?
2) If you need Real time update, does ADP give you the ability to integrate with external systems? Could we write code on ADP to call Salesforce Web services?
3) If API is not available on ADP side, can data be downloaded in CSV files and moved over to Salesforce via scheduled data loads?
4) Is there any Middleware tool available for Integrations?
5) If ADP exposes a Web UI for which changes in code can be done, you can try Force.com Canvas which integrates the UI layer within Salesforce UI.
6) What is the volume of Data being integrated?
If you can answer these questions, then a suitable integration can be suggested

Thanks for the quick reply!
Realtime wouldn't be required, so scheduled integration would work.
I suspect there is an API available from ADP - since they use SF themselves. But if not, a CSV export/automated import would be fine, I think.
I don't know anything about Middleware or tools, or the Web UI question - I have to ask someone else about that.
The volume is small - I'd say they have about 200 employees, and the turnover is low. I'm surprised others haven't had the need for something like this!
I wonder how organizations manage tracking their requirements and licenses, etc, in some of these highly regulated service type organizations.
Thnaks!
