Issue with importing Job_applications.csv

It would appear that the method for importing custom objects via CSV is now different from what described in the force.com platform fundamentals guide.. or at least it is in my DE.

Specifically it would appear that it's not possible to use the email address as an external ID

How can one import the Job_Applications.csv file in a similar way?

I am having same issue too.   I tried few things, one of the try worked and imported data!  I selected Candidate Name for Candidate lookup field for Add New Records.     But same is not working if I try to add new and update exsisting record!   Not sure this will help you or not.....good luck.
