Visualforce lightning - Advantages and Disadvantages in Force.com customisation

Hi All,

Can anyone please let me know the advantages and disadvantages of using Visualforce Lightning components. We are going to use this but would like to know more about using Lightning in Force.com apps.
Any suggestions would be great help !
