lookup field for opportunity product

I would like to create a lookup field on a custom object that references the Opportunity Product. How can this be accomplished?

HI Denise,

Currently Salesforce doesn't allow to directly link Opportunity Product with a custom object. 

The idea is already posted in Success Community. Let's wait untill salesforce announce something on this.
