I cannot download data loader on mac

I have downloaded it from the sales force site under data management ,dataloader for mac.
It installs but does not open...Need urgent ans..

@Esha : Did you move your software to the Applications folder ? I also recommend you to use Lexiloader , specifically designed for MAC Os http://www.pocketsoap.com/osx/lexiloader/ . Let me know in case of any issues .

YES , once you install the software , you will get a window to move dataloader to Applications folder. You have to just drag and drop in it . Then the dataloader icon will be visible your MAC dashboard .

done that but new error tried signing into data loader with security token. but still cant do so,it says to contact salesforce admin

Then you need to add the security Token .

Reset Security Token
  • From your personal settings, enter Reset in the Quick Find box, then select Reset My Security Token.
  • Click Reset Security Token. The new security token is sent to the email address in your Salesforce personal settings.

Then use the security token while logging in data loader
