How can I disable/hide the edit options on record page layouts, I want a user to have to click the edit button to edit any fields, is there a way to take away the edit option on the field level ? (The user should still have edit ability).

In lighning when creating a New Action to update the record - it gives you the option to add a Blank Space to the Action Layout, but after saving I will not see the space in the layout.
