Our Sales Team, would like to have an automatic Case Comment when they attach an article to the case from the Service Console.

I've attempted to do a trigger and workflow, but this unfortunately doesn't appear to be possible off of the CaseArticle object ( https://success.salesforce.com/ideaView?id=08730000000izXWAAY ) . 

Has anyone else accomplished this, and if so how?

Could you please let me know which are the best practice to check null in List, Map, Set to avoid nullpointer exception....
