I need to send a URL string with certain Opportunity fields in it when an custom check box on the opportinity is checked.  Would I need a trigger and an API call to do this, or is there an easier way?

I have created a Visual Force page and linked it to a custom button I have placed inside the Tasks.  When it is opened, it creates a frame within the frame.  I need the code for the page to load by itself.
