Job Description

In this position you will be part of the team that designs and develops web based software systems and applications including Salesforce as well modify and maintain current systems and applications. Experience with open-source content management systems is a plus. Job duties will include maintenance of current systems along with developing new systems to meet internal and external client needs. Salesforce experience a huge plus.


  • Supporting      the IT Director in developing technical solutions to complex problems.
  • Maintaining      project management best practices and providing accurate and timely      progress reports.
  • Taking      responsibility of the full software development lifecycle including the      application of standard methodologies such as Object Oriented Analysis and      Design.
  • Working      closely with stakeholders, users, subject matter experts in gathering      requirements, implementing functionality, and training users.

Desired Skills & Experience

Required Skills

  • Web      Development using HTML, PHP, JavaScript (OOP experience a plus), CSS, SQL,      jQuery, AJAX, XML, HTML5, Flash, SVN and/or Git, Codeigniter or any PHP      MVC framework.
  • Experience      with PHP-based open-source content management systems (CMS) such as      Drupal, WordPress, Joomla, or others. CMS experience should include      maintenance and administration of existing functionality, integration of      third-party add-on extensions to the application, and custom development      of additional add-ons and extensions.
  • Familiarity      with SEO and SEO best practices a plus.
  • Experience      designing flows, custom objects, and reporting in Salesforce

Required Experience

  • Candidate      should be able to describe ownership role of multiple software development      projects from concept to deployment or provide live examples.
  • Candidate      should be able to describe examples of extending functionality of      open-source applications.
  • Candidate      should have multiple examples of work and experience in production
  • Bachelors      degree in a related discipline.

We are a small-medium sized business (Snow Companies) in Williamsburg, VA who is implementing the enterprise version of Salesforce . We've done some initial customization with a consulting firm. We need to build workflows, create custom objects, build  reports and dashboards to support better business success and successfully launch Salesforce. We also need assistance with data migration.  We are looking for strategic planning recommendations as well as implementation.

I'm not exactly sure how long it will take to implement our needs, perhaps 3 months. We may do this in stages, depending on recommendations.

Although, this project is short term to move us forward, I'd also like to build a relationship with a long-term "go-to" person as we may need assistance with maintenance and upkeep. Our IT staff is only 3 people.

What are your rates? Would you be interested/available to come to our home office in Wiliamsburg for a week to get a better understanding of our business and how we have customized Salesforce to fit our business processes?
