With salesforce deprecating the support for Javascript from HYPERLINK functions for formula fields (Winter 18), is there a way/work around to support hyperlink formulas to open new tab in sales console?

I tried using visualforce page to handle the redirect, but the it is not working the same.

I can't open tab or subtab for Hyperlink in formula field.

formula can do this.

HYPERLINK(Id,'Mr. ' &  FirstName & ' ' &  LastName, '_parent')
