The campingList JavaScript controller isn't setting the 'item' as a parameter or saving the record correctly.

My code is as follows:

<aura:component controller="CampingListController">

    <aura:attribute name="newItem" type="Camping_Item__c"
     default="{ 'sobjectType': 'Camping_Item__c',
                    'Name': '',
                    'Quantity__c': 0,
                    'Price__c': 0,
                    'Packed__c': false }"/>

I did start with an existing DE, but make a fresh one and reentered all the process steps, now I get this error.

Does anyone have any example vehicle data or work part data they care to share?

Did you just create simple work part and equipment configurations or more complex?

Not sure it would matter, but just wondering what others have done.
Hi All.

I'm excited about the new EMail object to replace email activities as tasks. My question is about how to use it to send emails? Is this the purpose? How do I get started?

Has anyone seen any examples? Or would you like to share?

I see its a Master/Detail child record of Case. Is the only use for sending emails from Case? I would like to use it from Lead and Opportunity (actually Assets also, but larger story).  Am I barking up the wrong tree? Looking at the release notes, it appears the releated list will allow this.

Is there a standard form I can use or do I need to build a custom (standard SF, not lightning) VF page?

TIA.
John.
I'm trying to complete the Connect Components with Events trailhead and am getting this message when checking the challenge:

Challenge Not yet complete... here's what's wrong:
The campingList component doesn't have a Name field using an inputText UI component.

This does not make sense to me as this challenge moved the input form to a new bundle. Why does it seem to want a inputText UI component in the campingList component?

I am using an inputText UI control in the form component and including the component on the CampingList component.

I feel I'm missing a step.  Ideas?

Thanks.

Working the "Handle Actions with Controllers" trailhead module and I'm not getting past the validation.
If I put the component in a test jig, I can see the button function and set the check box as expected.

Here is the code I'm using to set the item as packed...

component.set("v.item.Packed__c", true );

I'm assuming the validator does not like my syntax. Can you give me a hint to get past this?

Thanks.
John

To complete the ISV modules, are you required to have an ISV account?

Or how do you get a dev org with environment hub?

I've completed the challenge, it has 100% coverage. I've checked all the method names. The URL is valid. I've used Work Bench and curl to test and even tested with multiple Accounts with and without contacts.

I know on other challenges, punctionation was important.  What about the defination of the return? Are there expected names?

I built a class to hold Account ID & Name along with a List of Contact names and IDs. Is this my issue?  Anyone else have a challenge with this challenge?

Any help or hints will be appreciated.

Here are snippets of my code:

@RestResource(urlMapping='/Accounts/*/contacts')
global with sharing class AccountManager {

....

global class APIAccount {
        public ID Id;
        public String Name;
        List<APIContact> Contacts;

...

@HttpGet
    global static APIAccount getAccount() {
        RestRequest request = RestContext.request;
...

I'm trying to complete the Handle Record Changes and Errors module but can't seem to get past the following challenge error:
Challenge Not yet complete... here's what's wrong:
The 'accEdit' Lightning Component JS Controller does not appear to be setting 'v.recordSaveError' with an error message.

.I've tried many different combinations of sets and am not having much luck.

I've tried several different component.set methods such as this one:
component.set('v.recordSaveError','Error: ' + saveResult.state + ', message: ' + JSON.stringify(saveResult.error));

Any ideas what this module is looking for as a valid solution?

I do see recordSaveError display after being set due to an error.

Thanks.

We have over 100 deployments of Live Agent. One for each of our company brands and locations. The auto greeting for each is specific for the brand & location.
Example: Hello! Thanks for chatting with us at My Business of Chicago. My name is {!User_FirstName}.How can we help you today?

When a customer starts the chat with a location then the agent determines they are not who the customer needs to be speaking with and transfers the chat to the correct agent, the original message repeats with the same values as before, even though the agent and location/business unit no longer apply. This leads to customer confusion.

How can we have a greeting and ensure the greeting is correct even through transfers? I'm open to a configuration or coding solution.

Steps to reproduce:
Start a live agent chat session from one of our web pages, say RV Sales of Atlanta
You receive greeting like: Hello! Thanks for chatting with us at My Business of Atlanta My name is John.How can we help you today?
Ask the agent a question about My Business Web Page (buying retail product)
The RV Sales agent will indicate they must transfer you to a different agent (call center)
Chat is transferred, you will receive same greeting: Hello! Thanks for chatting with us at My Business of Atlanta My name is John.How can we help you today?
but should have got a greeting like Hello! Thanks for chatting with us at My Business. My name is Jill. How can we help you today?

During the transfer the Agent Name and Location will both be changed, but the message is the same.

I saw and voted for an Idea about this, but wanted to know how others have addressed this issue?

Thanks.
John.

Hi all, I am stuck on the prevent SOQL injection trailhead, where I am looking to determine which portions of the code I would need to invoke escapeSingleQuotes or whitelist to enable. I've made several attempts at investigation to little avail. I have appended my code are there any steps I would need to take. My goal is to assess the code to see how it works and what I would need to do.

Hope it helps.

While going thru Trailhead and learning many things, I decided to put together my own version of yet another Trailhead Leader board. I've fleshed out an example that keeps track of Name, ID, Badges, Superbadges, Comm Badges and Total Points. Sorting, ID validation are also being done. I did all of this for my own edification and learning to better reinforce the skills that Trailhead provided me. Trailhead is really quite amazing

Link to Dev Org Public Site: http://trailhead-leaderboard-developer-edition.na35.force.com

This App is one VisualSource Page and Apex controller running as a Public Site. Refresh occurs periodically from a .Net Web App using the Partner WSDL API

I'm hoping to move all of that over to Apex once I figure out a bunch of things. I see some other suggestions about dates. It would be nice to incorporate that also. I'm sure that something like this could be incorporated into Salesforce Orgs for folks to keep track of training of their employees with Trailhead. Part of the loader I've built using the Partner WSDL scans thru all of the badges of a profile and can load them into the Org somewhere.

I am still getting this error:

Any help would be appreciated.

Working the "Handle Actions with Controllers" trailhead module and I'm not getting past the validation.
If I put the component in a test jig, I can see the button function and set the check box as expected.

Here is the code I'm using to set the item as packed...

component.set("v.item.Packed__c", true );

I'm assuming the validator does not like my syntax. Can you give me a hint to get past this?

Thanks.
John

To complete the ISV modules, are you required to have an ISV account?

Or how do you get a dev org with environment hub?

Getting this error while running.
Any idea how to solve this?

While going thru Trailhead and learning many things, I decided to put together my own version of yet another Trailhead Leader board. I've fleshed out an example that keeps track of Name, ID, Badges, Superbadges, Comm Badges and Total Points. Sorting, ID validation are also being done. I did all of this for my own edification and learning to better reinforce the skills that Trailhead provided me. Trailhead is really quite amazing
